Nursing Program Overview

Since 1964​, the Evergreen Valley College Nursing Program has been highly regarded in the community for excellence in preparing students to enter the healthcare field.

Upon completion of our two-year program, student receives an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing and is eligible to take the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Exam for Nurses) for Registered Nurse licensure.

EVC's philosophy and beliefs about learning stress the integration/application of theory and practice, active involvement of the adult learner, and the teacher-facilitator role to promote critical thinking.

Recent Program Updates

Significant changes to EVC Nursing application periods

EVC Nursing is migrating the yearly Nursing application cycle from the usual Fall period (accepting applications October 1 st to 31 st ) to a Spring application period (accepting applications December 15 th through the end of February). This change will be fully in effect for the 2024-2025 school year. For the current 2023-2024 school year, we will have a transition period with different application timeframes for each program. Please look at the below for information on specific program application dates for each 2023-2024 school year program.
